Dave Johnston

Dave has a degree in Psychology from York University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.  He is a (semi-retired) 26 year  member of the Canadian Professional Golfers'  Association.

Dave started his career in the backshop at the Scarlett Woods Golf Club in Toronto (6 years) and Rosedale Golf Club (2 years) before advancing to the Pro Shop and eventually assuming the Head Teaching Professional position at Bloomington Downs.

He has developed programs for Seneca College, the Y.W.C.A., North York Parks and Recreation and the Aurora Chamber of Commerce.

Dave's teaching is based on the belief that traditional instruction (focusing on perfect mechanics) is the biggest obstacle to improvement for the once-a-week golfer. He teaches three days a week and continues to publish articles and books designed to help every golfer overcome the limitations of traditional instruction.

Our obsession with proper technique is the biggest roadblock to improvement for the once-a-week golfer.

If you've ever hit a perfect shot, you have the ability. The secret to re-creating those shots is learning how to move beyond swing mechanics and develop the mental recipe to consistently unlock your natural ability.

His mantra is:

"Stop thinking and just hit the damn ball!"
